Description

A refreshing homemade strawberry lemonade combining fresh strawberries, lemon, and sweetener, blended and strained to a smooth, flavorful drink perfect for hot days.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pound strawberries washed and halved (about 3 cups)
  • 1 lemon washed and quartered
  • ½ to ¾ cup honey or sugar, adjust to taste depending on sweetness of strawberries
  • 6 cups water
  • Ice

Optional Garnishes

  • Strawberry slices
  • Lemon slices
  • Fresh herbs such as mint, lemon verbena, lemon balm, or basil

Instructions

  1. Blend ingredients: In a blender, combine the strawberries, lemon quarters, sweetener, and 2 cups of water. Blend until smooth.
  2. Strain mixture: Strain the blended mixture into a large pitcher to remove pulp and seeds.
  3. Add remaining water: Pour the remaining 4 cups of water through the strainer into the pitcher to help extract more flavor.
  4. Adjust sweetness: Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness by adding more honey or sugar if needed, stirring well to combine.
  5. Serve: Serve the strawberry lemonade cold over ice, garnished with sliced strawberries, lemon slices, and fresh herbs if desired.

Notes

  • Use fully ripe strawberries for the best natural sweetness.
  • Adjust the amount of sweetener to your preference, as strawberry sweetness can vary.
  • Fresh herbs like mint or basil add a lovely aromatic touch.
  • For a fizzy version, substitute some of the water with sparkling water just before serving.
  • This lemonade can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2 days; stir before serving.
