Instructions
- Prepare Strawberries: Remove stems from strawberries and slice them in half. Set aside half of the berries (8 ounces) to freeze.
- Freeze Berries: Place the 8 ounces of sliced strawberries in the freezer for at least 2 hours until fully frozen.
- Blend Cocktail: Add both fresh and frozen strawberries to a high-speed blender jar. Pour in rum, simple syrup, and lime juice. Blend until smooth and fully combined.
- Garnish and Serve: Pour the cocktail into glasses and garnish with an extra strawberry and/or lime slice. Serve immediately.
- Nonalcoholic Option: For a nonalcoholic version, omit the rum and replace it with 4 ounces of water, then blend as usual.
Notes
- If you don’t want to wait to freeze fresh strawberries, use 4 ounces frozen strawberries and 4 ounces fresh instead.
- Adjust the amount of rum based on your preference; if reducing rum, you may need to add water depending on your blender’s consistency needs.
- Simple syrup sweetness can be modified depending on how sweet your strawberries are and your taste preference.
