Description

Hot Italian Sub Sliders are deliciously layered with ham, salami, pepperoni, provolone cheese, and spicy peppers on soft Hawaiian rolls, brushed with garlic Italian butter, and baked until golden brown. Perfect as a flavorful appetizer or party snack.

Ingredients

Scale

Slider Ingredients

  • 12 pack rolls, halved lengthwise (Kings Hawaiian recommended)
  • 6 oz package of ham, thinly sliced
  • 5 oz package of salami, thinly sliced
  • 5 oz package of pepperoni, thinly sliced
  • 9 slices provolone cheese
  • ⅓ cup pepperoncini, sliced
  • ⅓ cup pickled hot cherry peppers, sliced

Seasoned Butter

  • ¼ cup salted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed (fresh recommended)

Optional to Serve

  • 1 cup marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit to prepare for baking the sliders.
  2. Assemble Sliders: Lay the bottom halves of the rolls on a baking sheet. Layer ham, then salami, pepperoni, and provolone cheese on the rolls. Add sliced hot cherry peppers and pepperoncini on top, then place the roll tops back on.
  3. Prepare Butter Mixture: In a small bowl, combine melted butter, Italian seasoning, and crushed garlic. Stir well to blend the flavors together.
  4. Brush Sliders: Generously brush the seasoned butter mixture over the tops of the slider buns, ensuring it penetrates all the nooks and crannies for maximum flavor.
  5. Bake: Cover the sliders tightly with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes until the tops are golden brown.
  6. Serve: Remove the foil and carefully slice the sliders. Serve hot, optionally with marinara sauce on the side for dipping.

Notes

  • Using fresh garlic instead of jarred enhances the flavor of the butter mixture.
  • Kings Hawaiian rolls provide a sweet, soft bread base that complements the savory meats.
  • If you prefer less heat, reduce or omit the pickled hot cherry peppers.
  • Covering with foil during baking prevents the sliders from drying out while allowing even heating.
  • Serve immediately for best taste and texture.
