Description

These Halloween Spider Energy Balls are a fun and spooky snack perfect for kids and adults alike. Made with soft chocolate energy balls, decorated with candy eyeballs and licorice legs, they make a delightful and healthy treat for Halloween parties or festive occasions.

Ingredients

Scale

Energy Ball Base

  • 12 pieces chocolate energy balls (store-bought or homemade, about 1 inch in diameter each)

Decorations

  • 24 candy eyeballs (2 per spider)
  • 4 black licorice laces or grape licorice laces, or dark fruit leather such as blueberry or blackberry (enough to cut into thin strips for legs)

Instructions

  1. Add eyeballs: Press two candy eyeballs gently onto each chocolate energy ball to form the spider’s eyes, making sure they stick firmly to the surface.
  2. Attach legs: Cut the licorice laces or fruit leather into thin strips to create spider legs. Insert four strips on each side of the energy ball, gently pushing them into the soft energy ball so they stay securely attached.
  3. Repeat: Continue decorating all the energy balls with eyeballs and legs until you have transformed all of them into fun Halloween spider snacks.

Notes

  • Use soft energy balls for easier decorating; date-based or homemade chocolate energy balls are ideal since they tend to be soft and sticky.
  • If your energy balls were refrigerated, allow them to come to room temperature to soften before pressing on the candy eyes and legs.
  • You can substitute black licorice with grape licorice or dark fruit leather like blueberry or blackberry for a similar effect.
