Description

Delight in these Halloween Oreo stuffed chocolate chip cookies, featuring a gooey Oreo center wrapped in rich chocolate chip cookie dough, topped with festive sprinkles and extra chocolate chips. Perfect for a spooky celebration or a sweet treat any time.

Ingredients

Scale

Cookie Dough

  • 1/2 cup butter Slightly softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 3 tbsp corn starch
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2/3 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/4 cup Halloween sprinkles

Filling

  • 9 Halloween Oreo cookies

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Pan: Preheat the oven to 350F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silpat to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugars: In a medium bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy to create a smooth base for the dough.
  3. Add Egg and Vanilla: Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth and fully incorporated, ensuring the dough will bind properly.
  4. Add Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the flour, corn starch, baking soda, and salt to the wet ingredients. Stir just until combined to avoid overmixing, which can make the cookies tough.
  5. Fold in Chocolate Chips and Sprinkles: Gently fold the semi sweet chocolate chips and Halloween sprinkles into the dough for bursts of flavor and festive appearance.
  6. Assemble Cookies: Using a large cookie scoop (about 1/4 cup), scoop out dough portions, flatten them in your palm, place an Oreo in the center, then fold the dough over the Oreo. Roll to seal so the Oreo is fully enclosed.
  7. Bake Cookies: Place the assembled cookies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space for spreading. Bake for 10 minutes. The cookies may look slightly underdone or gooey in the middle, which is desired.
  8. Add Toppings and Cool: Immediately after removing from the oven, top each cookie with extra chocolate chips. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes to set, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For softer cookies, do not overbake; the centers should remain slightly gooey when taken out of the oven.
  • If you can’t find Halloween Oreos, regular Oreos can be substituted with Halloween-themed sprinkles to maintain the festive look.
  • Use a cookie scoop to ensure evenly sized cookies and even baking.
  • Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet before transferring, so they hold their shape better.
