Description

Halloween Popcorn is a festive and fun treat combining salty popcorn with sweet candy corn, peanut M&Ms, mini marshmallows, and melted semisweet chocolate. Perfect for parties or a seasonal snack, this easy no-bake dessert features layers of ingredients drizzled and coated in rich chocolate, then chilled to set into bite-sized pieces.

Ingredients

Scale

Popcorn Mix

  • 3 cups salted popcorn
  • 1/2 cup candy corn
  • 1/2 cup peanut M&Ms
  • 1/2 cup mini marshmallows

Chocolate Coating

  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • Sprinkles, for decorating

Instructions

  1. Prepare Popcorn Mix: In a large bowl, combine the salted popcorn, candy corn, peanut M&Ms, and mini marshmallows. Stir gently to mix these ingredients evenly.
  2. Melt Chocolate: Fill a medium saucepan with about an inch of water and bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low. Place the chopped semisweet chocolate into a heatproof bowl that fits snugly over the pan without touching the water. Stir the chocolate continuously with a rubber spatula until fully melted and smooth.
  3. Assemble First Layer: Line a baking tray with parchment paper. Drizzle half of the melted chocolate onto the parchment. Spread half of the popcorn mix evenly over the chocolate layer. Gently press sprinkles on top for decoration.
  4. Add Second Layer: Drizzle the remaining melted chocolate over the first layer evenly. Top with the remaining popcorn mix and sprinkles. Press gently to ensure everything adheres together.
  5. Chill to Set: Place the tray in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes or until the chocolate hardens completely.
  6. Serve and Store: Once set, break the popcorn bark into bite-sized pieces. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container at room temperature up to 2 days. Refrigerate if chocolate becomes too soft, keeping in mind popcorn freshness may reduce faster.

Notes

  • For a nut-free version, use regular M&Ms and add 1/2 cup chopped pretzels for saltiness instead of peanut M&Ms.
  • Popcorn is best eaten the day it is made for optimal freshness.
