Scale
Main Ingredients
- ½ cup salted butter
- 10 cups mini marshmallows, divided
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 5 cups Rice Krispies
- 2 cups Rice Chex
- 2 cups Frosted Cheerios
- 1 cup Easter M&Ms
- 2 teaspoons Easter sprinkles
Instructions
- Prepare baking dish: Premeasure all ingredients before you begin cooking and line a 9×13-inch baking sheet with parchment paper and coat it with non-stick spray; set aside.
- Melt butter and marshmallows: In a large saucepan, melt the ½ cup salted butter and 8 cups of mini marshmallows together over low heat until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.
- Add vanilla and remaining marshmallows: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, then add the remaining 2 cups of mini marshmallows and stir until they melt into the mixture.
- Mix in cereals: Add 5 cups Rice Krispies, 2 cups Rice Chex, and 2 cups Frosted Cheerios to the melted marshmallow mixture. Stir gently but thoroughly until all cereal is evenly coated.
- Fold in M&Ms and sprinkles: Quickly and gently fold in 1 cup Easter M&Ms and 2 teaspoons Easter sprinkles, taking care not to crush the candies or cause the colors to bleed.
- Transfer and press: Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and use parchment paper or greased hands to gently press it evenly into the pan without pressing too hard to avoid tough treats.
- Optional topping: Sprinkle extra M&Ms and sprinkles on top as desired and gently press them into the surface.
- Set and cut: Let the treats cool and set at room temperature for 30 minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
Notes
- Unsalted butter can be used, but add about ½ teaspoon of salt to maintain flavor balance.
- Substitute Corn Chex for Rice Chex if desired, but avoid wheat Chex for texture considerations.
- Other varieties of Cheerios can be used as alternatives.
- Add M&Ms near the end to prevent their colors from bleeding into the mixture.
- Do not press the mixture too firmly when transferring to the pan to keep treats soft and chewy.
- Store treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks.
