- 2 packages NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Brownies & More Chocolate Baking Mix with Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup vegetable oil
- 6 tablespoons water
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels (divided as 2/3 cup and 1/3 cup)
Chocolate Pudding
- 2 packages (3.9 ounces each) instant chocolate fudge pudding mix
- 4 cups cold milk
Whipped Cream
- 4 cups heavy cream, very cold
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Garnish
- Chocolate shavings to garnish
Instructions
- Prepare Brownies: Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Spray two 8-inch square baking pans with cooking spray. In a large bowl, stir together the brownie mix, eggs, vegetable oil, and water until just blended. Stir in 2/3 cup of the semi-sweet chocolate morsels. Spread the batter evenly into prepared pans. Bake for 10 minutes, then carefully sprinkle the remaining 1/3 cup morsels on top of the batter. Continue baking for an additional 25 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted near the center comes out clean. Let the brownies cool completely on a wire rack before cutting.
- Make Chocolate Pudding: In a large bowl, pour 4 cups of cold milk. Add the chocolate pudding mix and whisk with a hand whisk or electric mixer for 2 to 5 minutes until the pudding sets. Refrigerate until ready to assemble.
- Whip the Cream: In a mixing bowl, combine the very cold heavy cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Whisk by hand or use a stand or electric mixer until the cream forms stiff peaks. Keep chilled until assembly.
- Assemble the Trifle: Cut the cooled brownies into small squares. In a large dessert bowl, layer brownies, whipped cream, and chocolate pudding. Repeat layering once more with brownies, whipped cream, and chocolate pudding. Finish with a top layer of whipped cream and sprinkle chocolate shavings over the top as garnish.
- Serve or Store: Serve immediately for best texture or store the trifle covered in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
