Description
Cranberry Brie Bites are delightful mini appetizers featuring creamy brie cheese nestled in flaky crescent dough, topped with tangy whole berry cranberry sauce and fresh rosemary. Perfectly golden and served warm, these bite-sized treats are ideal for parties and holiday gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
Dough
- 8 ounce crescent dough sheet (or crescent rolls)
- All-purpose flour (for dusting the dough and cutting board)
Filling
- 8 ounce wheel of brie cheese
- 1 cup whole berry cranberry sauce (not jellied)
- Fresh rosemary sprig (about 2 sprigs)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F degrees and spray a 24-count mini muffin tin with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Prepare Dough: Spread a little all-purpose flour on your counter or cutting board. Roll out the 8 ounce crescent dough sheet; if using crescent rolls, pinch the seams together to form one long sheet.
- Cut Dough Squares: Cut the dough into 24 equal-sized squares, ensuring each is large enough to fit into the muffin tin slots.
- Place Dough in Muffin Tin: Gently place each dough square into the slots of the mini muffin tin, forming little cups.
- Add Brie Cheese: Cut the 8 ounce wheel of brie into small pieces and place one piece inside each dough cup.
- Top with Cranberry Sauce: Spoon a generous amount of whole berry cranberry sauce over the brie in each dough cup.
- Add Rosemary Garnish: Place a small piece of fresh rosemary sprig on top of each bite for added flavor and aroma.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven until the crescent dough is a light golden brown, about 15 minutes.
- Serve Warm: Remove from the oven and serve the cranberry brie bites warm for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- Some people prefer to remove the rind from the brie cheese; this step is optional and based on personal preference.
- If you don’t have a 24-count mini muffin tin, use a 12 or 18 count tin and bake in batches as needed.
- Make sure to spray the muffin tin well to easily release the bites after baking.
- Use whole berry cranberry sauce for a more textured and flavorful topping rather than a jellied variety.
