Description

Cottage Cheese Chips are a simple and healthy snack made by baking scooped cottage cheese mounds until crisp and golden. These chips are easy to prepare with minimal ingredients and can be customized with various seasonings for added flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup full-fat cottage cheese

Optional Seasonings

  • Everything but the bagel seasoning
  • Garlic powder
  • Taco seasoning (low sodium or salt free)
  • Cheddar cheese or parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat your oven to 180C/350F and line a baking tray with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy cleanup.
  2. Prepare the cottage cheese: Drain any excess moisture from the cottage cheese to help the chips become crispy when baked.
  3. Scoop and shape: Using a tablespoon, scoop out portions of cottage cheese and place them on the prepared baking tray, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Press down each mound gently to flatten slightly and sprinkle with your choice of seasoning.
  4. Bake: Place the tray in the oven and bake for 30 minutes or until the edges of the cottage cheese mounds become golden brown and crisp.
  5. Cool and serve: Remove the chips from the oven and allow them to cool completely on the baking tray to let them crisp up further before serving.

Notes

  • STORAGE: Leftover chips can be refrigerated, but they might become soggy. Reheating them in the oven will help restore their crispiness.
  • Flavor variations: Add seasonings like everything but the bagel, garlic powder, taco seasoning (low sodium), or finely grated cheddar or parmesan cheese for extra flavor.
  • Ensure to drain the cottage cheese thoroughly to avoid soggy chips.
  • Pressing the mounds helps them bake evenly and achieve a chip-like texture.
