Description

A festive and creamy Christmas Sugar Cookie Dip made with heat-treated sugar cookie mix, cream cheese, cool whip, and a hint of vanilla and almond extracts. Perfect for holiday gatherings and easy to prepare.

Ingredients

Scale

Base Ingredients

  • 17.5 oz sugar cookie mix
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 8 oz Cool Whip, thawed

Instructions

  1. Heat-Treat Sugar Cookie Mix: Put the sugar cookie mix into a large microwave-safe mixing bowl, and microwave in 30 second intervals, stirring after each interval, until the mixture reaches a temperature of 165℉ to ensure safety. Allow to cool completely before proceeding.
  2. Beat Cream Cheese: In a large mixing bowl, add the softened cream cheese and beat with a hand mixer until smooth and creamy.
  3. Add Liquids and Extracts: Add the milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the cream cheese and beat well until fully combined.
  4. Combine Sugar Cookie Mix: Add the cooled sugar cookie mix to the cream cheese mixture and mix using the hand mixer until all lumps are gone and the mixture is smooth.
  5. Fold in Cool Whip: Gently fold in the thawed Cool Whip using a spatula, being careful not to overmix so the dip remains light and creamy.
  6. Chill and Serve: Transfer the mixture into a serving bowl. Optionally top with holiday sprinkles for decoration. Refrigerate until ready to serve to allow flavors to meld and dip to firm up.

Notes

  • Ensure to heat-treat the sugar cookie mix by microwaving to eliminate any potential pathogens for safe consumption.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days, and refrigerate within 2 hours after serving to maintain freshness.
  • Thaw the Cool Whip completely before folding it into the mixture and use a spatula rather than a mixer to keep the dip light and creamy.
