Ingredients
Scale
Chocolate
- 8 ounces semi-sweet chocolate bars, coarsely chopped
- 8 ounces white chocolate bars, coarsely chopped
Decorations
- Festive Halloween candy such as eyeball sprinkles
- Halloween sprinkles
- Halloween M&Ms
Instructions
- Prepare Baking Sheet: Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat and set aside.
- Melt Semi-Sweet Chocolate: Melt the semi-sweet chocolate using a double boiler or microwave in 20 second increments, stirring after each until fully melted and smooth.
- Melt White Chocolate: Melt the white chocolate following the same method used for the semi-sweet chocolate until smooth.
- Spread and Swirl: Pour the melted semi-sweet chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread into an approximately 8 by 12 inch rectangle. Drizzle the white chocolate over the top and use a knife or toothpick to gently swirl the two chocolates together.
- Add Decorations: Sprinkle festive Halloween candies evenly over the chocolate bark while still melted.
- Set Chocolate: Allow the chocolate to set uncovered at room temperature or refrigerate for about 45 minutes until completely hardened.
- Break and Store: Break the hardened bark into pieces of desired size. Store in an airtight container at room temperature in a cool, dry place for up to 1 week or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
- Freezing Instructions: Freeze the bark for up to 2 months in an airtight container; thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
- Chocolate Tips: Use pure chocolate bars rather than chocolate chips or morsels for better melting and flavor. Recommended brands include Ghirardelli, Baker’s, Lindt, or Trader Joe’s 4-ounce bars.
- Candy Variations: Use any Halloween themed candies or sprinkles you prefer, such as candy corn or different Halloween-themed M&Ms.
- Tools Needed: Baking sheet, parchment paper or silicone baking mat, double boiler or microwave-safe mixing bowls.
