Main Ingredients
- 2 small cabbage heads
- 3 tbsp. olive oil
- ½ tsp. salt or to taste
- 2 tsp. paprika
- 1 tbsp. garlic powder
- Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Cabbage: Cut the stems off the cabbage heads, then slice each head in half, and then in half again. You should have four thick cabbage slices per head, each about ¾ to 1 inch thick.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the cabbage steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each piece for even cooking.
- Season One Side: Brush the cabbage steaks thoroughly with olive oil. Generously sprinkle salt, garlic powder, and paprika over the top surface.
- Season the Other Side: Flip the cabbage steaks over and repeat the oil brushing and seasoning. Optionally, add a pinch of red pepper flakes on each steak for some heat.
- Bake the Cabbage Steaks: Preheat the oven to 400°F and bake the cabbage steaks for 25 minutes, or until the leaves are browned, edges are crispy, and the centers are tender.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and serve hot as a snack or side dish.
