Chicken
- 6 boneless skinless chicken breasts
Marinade
- 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce
Bacon and Sauce
- 12 slices bacon
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (for brushing)
Instructions
- Marinate the Chicken: Trim the chicken breasts and place them in a zippered bag with 1 1/2 cups barbecue sauce. Seal the bag and refrigerate for 8 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to develop thoroughly.
- Prepare the Chicken for Cooking: Remove the marinated chicken from the bag. Wrap each chicken breast with two slices of bacon, securing the bacon with toothpicks to keep it in place during cooking.
- Grill the Chicken: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat. Place the bacon-wrapped chicken breasts on the grill and cook for about 10 minutes on each side. Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165º Fahrenheit indicating the chicken is fully cooked and no longer pink.
- Brush with Barbecue Sauce: During the last few minutes of grilling, brush the chicken with the remaining 1/2 cup of barbecue sauce to add extra flavor and caramelization.
Notes
- If grilling is not an option, line a baking sheet with aluminum foil, place the bacon-wrapped chicken breasts on it, and bake at 375ºF for 20-30 minutes or until fully cooked. Cooking time depends on chicken thickness.
