Croissants
- 1 12-ounce can Pillsbury big and flaky crescent rolls
- 5 tbsp Nutella (2 tsp per croissant)
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips (1/2 tbsp per croissant)
Egg Wash
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp water or 2% milk
Optional Garnishes
- Melted chocolate chips
- Honey
- Powdered sugar
Instructions
- Prepare Croissants: Separate the crescent roll dough and lay each piece flat on a clean surface.
- Add Nutella: Spread about 2 teaspoons of Nutella evenly over the entire top surface of each flattened croissant.
- Add Chocolate Chips: Place ½ tablespoon of chocolate chips on the large end of each croissant.
- Roll Croissants: Begin rolling each croissant from the large end towards the smaller end, enclosing the filling inside.
- Make Egg Wash: Whisk together the egg and water or 2% milk until fully combined.
- Brush Egg Wash: Using a brush, apply the egg wash over the surface of each unbaked croissant for a nice golden finish.
- Prepare Air Fryer: Spray the bottom of the air fryer basket with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Air Fry Croissants: Place the croissants in a single layer in the air fryer basket, allowing space for them to expand. Air fry at 360 degrees for 8 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Add Garnishes: After cooking, optionally drizzle warm honey, melted chocolate chips, and sprinkle powdered sugar on top for extra sweetness and presentation.
Notes
- Ensure croissants have room to expand in the air fryer basket to avoid sticking together.
- Use water instead of milk in the egg wash for a lighter crust.
- Warm the honey slightly before drizzling to make it easier to spread.
- Substitute Nutella with any chocolate-hazelnut spread or jam if preferred.
- Cooking times may vary depending on your air fryer model; adjust as needed to achieve a golden brown crust.
