Description

Crispy and flavorful Air Fryer Garlic Parmesan Wings made with juicy chicken wings coated in a garlic herb butter sauce, sprinkled with parmesan cheese, and perfectly cooked in the air fryer for a delicious appetizer or main dish.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Chicken Wings

  • 2 pounds chicken wings cut into drumettes and wingettes

Butter and Seasoning

  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) salted butter divided and melted
  • 2 tablespoons garlic and herb seasoning
  • 2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic

Toppings and Garnishes

  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • Fresh chopped parsley optional garnish
  • Ranch optional side

Instructions

  1. Preheat and Prepare Wings: Preheat the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and pat the chicken wing pieces dry with a paper towel to ensure crispiness.
  2. Butter Coating: Melt 2 tablespoons of the salted butter and drizzle it over the dry chicken wings. Toss lightly to coat all the wings evenly with the butter.
  3. Season Wings: In a small bowl, mix together the garlic and herb seasoning and sea salt. Sprinkle this mixture over the wings and rub gently on both sides to evenly distribute the seasoning.
  4. Cook Wings in Batches: Place the wings in an even layer in the air fryer basket without overcrowding. Cook for 10 minutes on one side, then flip and cook for another 9 minutes until golden brown and internal temperature reaches at least 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Do 2 or 3 batches depending on your air fryer size.
  5. Prepare Garlic Butter: While wings are cooking, mix the remaining 6 tablespoons of melted butter with the minced garlic in a medium-sized bowl.
  6. Toss Wings in Garlic Butter: After cooking, toss the wings in the garlic butter mixture until well coated for extra flavor.
  7. Add Parmesan and Toast: Sprinkle the wings generously with grated parmesan cheese and return them to the air fryer for 3 minutes or until the parmesan is lightly toasted and melted.
  8. Serve and Garnish: Optionally drizzle any extra garlic butter over the wings or serve it on the side. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley and serve with ranch dressing if desired.

Notes

  • Patting the wings dry before cooking helps achieve a crispier texture.
  • Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
  • You can substitute parmesan with pecorino Romano for a sharper flavor.
  • Use fresh minced garlic for the best taste, but garlic powder can be used if pressed for time.
  • Serve with celery sticks or a side salad for a balanced meal.
  • Check internal temperature with a meat thermometer to ensure wings are fully cooked.
